Team

Our team in France consists of the following people: Florence Castellani, project leader, Andreas Narzt, art historian, in charge of the scientific direction of the catalogue raisonné and Alain Castellani, archivist. The American team consists of: Siri Yardumian-Hurst and Dr Martha Gyllenhaal, professor at Bryn Athyn College, Pennsylvania, and author of “Art of Philippe Smit”.

We are grateful to Vrouwke Urban of the Netherlands, great niece of Nicolaas Urban, who was a friend and patron of Philippe Smit, and Marion Hübscher, distant cousin of Berendina and genealogist, for their selfless help with research about the artist and his paintings and with numerous translations.
