This painting could very well be the one which Philippe Smit mentions in this letter: "[…] Au Nico je voudrais bien t’envoyer/ un beau tableau pour tout les services que/ tu me rend. J’ai un grand tableaux d’Osny mais voila il praine chèr pour le transport […]" [sic] (... Oh Nico I would like to send you a beautiful painting for all you do for me. I have a large painting of Osny, but it costs too much to transport ...) (Philippe Smit 1913b)
